EV Alert is used extensively to provide warning of approaching cane trams to harvesting vehicles and local road users.
Transmitters are installed on locomotives and EV Alert receivers provide a pulsing amber warning light on the driver's instrument panels. Accidents are often due to the drivers simply not seeing or hearing approaching trams because of high sugar cane plantations close to crossings and junctions, dust, sun glare, air-conditioned cabs with stereos or simple fatigue.
